What worked wellf for me was Valor. It still does when I get depressed, but I don’t get depressed that often anymore, thank God!! Just a drop or two of Valor every day will do it; simply apply a drop on the soles of the feet after taking a shower and a drop on the wrist and behind the ears as well, like perfume. At first, you may need to apply it more often, if the depression is severe. Everytime you feel like you can’t cope, apply a drop of Valor on the wrists and behind the ears, and inhale profoundly, closing your eyes. It starts working in just a few minutes. It’s just amazing!!

There is a wonderful book by Carolyn Mein, D.C. entitled “Releasing Emotional Patterns With Essential Oils”. This book is available by cutting and pasting or typing the email addresses below in the address line of your email incase you cannot access these sites through this email. www.essentialscience.net and or www.abundanthealth4u.com The cost of this easy read book is $14.95.
In this book it states some of the best oils for Depression are: Hope, Valor, Joy, Lavender, White Angelica, Gentle Baby, Inner Child, Sara, Peace & Calming, Citrus Fresh, Humility and Christmas Spirit.
For issues of being Overwhelmed: layer, Acceptance and Hope, Valor, or Grounding.
For issues of Anger and Hate: Forgiveness, Acceptance, Humility, Release or Joy. Deep-seated anger may also need Helichrysum and /or Valor to have the strength to forgive. (Layer if using more than one blend.)
Rejection: Acceptance layered with Forgiveness.
Whatever, the choice of oils, use them faithfully everyday. Gary Young has said the liver is our “fear factory” everything we feel and also all the toxins our body releases are stored in the liver. So be sure to use Release on the liver and Harmony on the solar plexus area of the body. Valor on the feet, 5 drops on the bottom of each foot 6 days of the week, balances out the energy field of the body.
Nutrition plays a huge
factor in our mental and physical well being so eating all the right foods contributes greatly.
I hope some of this information helps.
Blessings to you and yours,
Linda

In the latest Essential LIfestyle magazine, on Page 35, there’s a Mood Elevating Protocol in the upper right hand corner of the page. Vicki Opfer shared this…as she has in the Yahoo forums also. There was a friend of mine who used it for her depression and she really noticed a difference. One weekend she was busy and forgot to do it. By Monday she wasn’t feeling herself and then she realized that she hadn’t done the protocol over the weekend. She started it again and all was well. She was able to get out of bed more cheerfully and felt like doing something during the day.
Also, the newest person in my organization I met at a Women’s Fair where I had a booth. She won the 5 ml bottles of Joy and Lavender that I had as a raffle. I told her about all the uses for Lavender and then for Joy, I mentioned about putting a drop over your heart in the morning to make you feel Joyous! She called me the next afternoon very excited. She is the director of Human Resources and accounting for one of our state offices….so there is some stress there! She said that usually, by the afternoon, she has tension in her shoulders and sometimes a slight headache. Well, she was driving home from work and she didn’t have the tension or the headache! And, she said, she still had the same stresses that day..so it wasn’t that…it had to be the Joy oil! She purchased the Everyday Oils kit the next day!
The protocol is below for those that might not have the magazine in front of
them:
*Mood Elevating Protocol*
* *
*Valor:* Apply to bottoms of feet or place a single drop on one wrist and hold the other wrist to it for a few moments to balance the entire system.
*Harmony:* Place a single drop over the solar plexus (area above the belly button)
*Joy:* Apply a single drop over the heart.
*White Angelica:* Place a single drop in one hand, rub hands together and brush over the head, face, chest, shoulders, down the body, and right over the clothes as though applying an angelic shield.

The oil I used for depression was lemon on my throat, which would be my thyroid. I wasn’t severely depressed, more like I felt down a lot. But depression does run in my family so I pay attention to how I feel.
The lemon oil made me feel lighter, happier.
Happy oiling,

I have a friend who had a son becoming more and more depressed. She diffused Joy in his room. It helped bring him out of it. I would also use the tree oils, cedarwood, Idaho Balsam Fir, cypress, frankincense, sandalwood. They are very grounding. There is a book available on Abundant Health that a psychologist wrote. He has helped people with depression and bi polar. Dr. Greg Hitter I think is his name. The tree oils are grounding for people and can lift their mood. Diffuse, apply topically, put on a hanky or piece of flannel under the pillow case. Get on Vitamin D as lack of Vit D3 causes depression.
Blessings,

I deal with high-functioning depression constantly. The things I do to keep on track are diffusing. I don’t care what oil I have in the diffuser. It is kept on all the time. Diffusing is vital. Frankincense on the brainstem is marvelous, reading/watching uplifting true stories, (I use the Chicken Soup Series to get cathartic release) IdahoBalsam Fir is an instant up-Stress Away and all the Amazon oils are wonderful. Massage and/or foot treatments for the touch therapy is wonderful.
Nutrition and exericse along with deeper breathing supports the work of the oils. (Eat alkaline and cleanse 1 day a week. Yoga) The 2 things that help me the most are acts of service. One to a human and one to God. If I can focus on someone else just for a simple act it keeps me climbing up. An act of service for God to me means I acknowledge I am His daughter, He loves me and I have great value to Him. I use the oils from the old Feeling’s kit for my meditation/service act to God.
I daily set the intent to share a smile with a stranger. I give thanks for blessings.
I hope the oils can help one who isn’t able to help themselves.
